Who does not love a day at the zoo? Kids, especially, would be extremely happy and excited the moment you tell them that you are taking them to a park or a zoo. This is mainly because they get to see a number of animals and birds which they would otherwise not get to see everyday and everywhere.

When you have a day off, going to a zoo to have a fun day would definitely be a good decision. If you have noticed, you would have seen information boards with the name and details of the particular animal that is in the cage. These boards can give you all the important information about the animal. Learning animal names and their descent will make it even more interesting. Moving on from one cage to another, kids will enjoy every minute of the day.

It would be good for schools to organise one-day trips to zoos, national parks or sanctuaries. More than a zoo, kids might enjoy paying a visit to a sanctuary as they are nature reserves. Rather than seeing animals and birds in cages, seeing them move around in their natural habitats will give the students a chance to see what life is like for these animals and birds.

Visual learning is always better than auditory learning, and it is even better when both forms of learning are combined. For example, taking the students to a bird sanctuary and teaching them a lesson on birds and their living habitats will be a great way. Experiential learning is also a good method. There are many places where they provide the visitors with a QR code that would take them to websites providing information about that particular bird. When such methods are made use of, students will not forget how these birds perched, ate or built a nest. One other activity you can do is to give a list of bird names and ask them to tick the names of the birds they see. You can also ask them to find pictures of the birds they see in the sanctuary once they get back home. Instead of sitting in a classroom and showing pictures of birds on PowerPoint, you could do this.

This will not just bring interest in the students, but the teacher will enjoy it too. It will not just educate the students but will also end up becoming a core memory they will carry with them all their life. They will never forget the teacher nor the classes. The world or the education system is not the same anymore. Innovation is the key to making the education process much more intriguing and worthwhile. So, what are you waiting for? Take your kids/students to a zoo or even a jungle safari. Let your students have not just an educational trip but a day of complete enjoyment. Seeing the wide smiles on their faces will make your heart smile as well.
