  • Also, make sure to connect your computer device and the Chromecast device to the same Wi-Fi network.

2. Install the Chromecast setup using your PC (Chromecast setup PC)-

  1. Cast A Tab- If you choose this option, you can cast only a particular tab to the television from your PC.
  2. Cast full Desktop Screen-With the help of this option, you can cast full desktop screens on your TV device.
  3. Cast Only A File- In the cast a file option, you can only choose a video, audio, or any other single media file. You can’t cast more than one file at a time.
  • So, once you select the casting option, choose the media to cast, and you’re good to go.

4. Troubleshooting the issues with setting up my Google Chromecast-

If you face any issues with casting, try these troubleshooting methods on your device.

I can’t connect Chromecast to the Wi-Fi network I’m selecting-

  • Check that the PC device meets the minimum system requirements.
  • If you see this error on your PC device, confirm that the router is connected to the power supply.
  • Also, check that your Chromecast connects to the power socket and its power light turns on solid white.
  • Close Google Chrome and relaunch it.
  • Try another PC device to set up the Chromecast.

I can’t find my Cast devices-

  • Check that your Chromecast and PC connect to the same network.
  • You must use the latest version of the Google Chrome browser.
  • Also, the Chromecast device must turn on.
  • Ensure that your PC device meets the minimum system requirements.
  • Reboot the Chromecast and then relaunch Google Chrome.

I’m having trouble physically connecting my Chromecast-

  • If you are facing this issue, you might have encountered an HDCP issue. You can easily fix the issue by rebooting your television device.
  • It can also be an issue with the reset button (the only button on the Chromecast device). If your Chromecast is plugged in, check for the reset button if it struck while plugging in the Chromecast to the TV. You can check whether the reset button is stuck or not by clicking it. If it bounces back, then it is okay.
  • Reconnect the Chromecast device into the HDMI port of your television device.
  • Reboot the television device to fix the issue.

I don’t see the Chromecast’s home screen on my TV-

  • Firstly, check that your Chromecast device is connected to the correct HDMI port.
  • And also, the power adaptor of your Chromecast device is connected to the power socket and receiving power supply. Finally, check the power LED on the Chromecast device; it must turn on solid white.
  • Unplug the Chromecast device from the television. Reboot it and then plug it again.
  • Reboot the television. Firstly, unplug the Chromecast and then reboot the television and connect the Chromecast again into the HDMI port of your TV.

I’m seeing a yellow exclamation mark error first screen on my Chromecast-

The error indicates that your Chromecast device is in recovery mode. This happens when you reboot Chromecast multiple times without allowing it to reboot its full cycle. So, if Chromecast fails to go through a full reboot cycle, it will result in this issue. Try these solutions to fix the issue-

  • Unplug the Chromecast device to reboot it. Wait for 2 to 5 minutes and then plugin again.
  • Plug the Chromecast device into the wall jack properly.
  • Reboot your television device also.
