Hamas Insists that the Ceasefire in Gaza Must Be Permanen
The Hamas group said it would respond to Israel’s ceasefire offer “in a very short time.” However, Hamas also emphasized that the ceasefire must be permanent.
As reported by AFP and Al Arabiya, Thursday (SEMI SLOT88), Hamas is considering a 40-day ceasefire offer in the Gaza Strip that would involve exchanging the remaining hostages for a large number of Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli prisons.
A senior Hamas official, Suhail al-Hindi, told AFP that his group would “present their response clearly in a very short time”, although it did not say exactly what it expected to happen.
